Chris was born in Texas, where her dad was in US Air Force Intelligence/Security Service. As a military brat, she lived in Alaska, Riverside, CA, Northern Virginia and Germany. She attended Schiller College in Heidelberg for a year. After all those years in cold climates, she chose to move to sunny California to finish her degree and has loved living here ever since.
Chris graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Due to her love of travel, she worked for Gray Line Tours, American Airlines, Thomas Cook and Decker International Travel in Los Angeles, earning her Travel Counselor Certificate. Her increasing interest in computer technology led to a management job with Pacific Bell, which moved her to the Bay Area.
The best job she ever had was raising her 2 kids, Elise and Eric, in Benicia. As they grew, Chris volunteered with the PTA, swim team, and church. Chris was a founding board member of Families in Transition, which provides emergency funds for Benicia’s families in crisis.
After her kids moved away for college and careers, Chris decided to downsize, and moved to Rossmoor in 2014. She wakes up with a smile on her face every day! She worked from home for IBM/Kyndryl as a Global Project Coordinator until her job was terminated last year. She retired, and is enjoying keeping healthy: walking in the early mornings, gardening, playing golf with the Niners Women’s Golf Club, and spending time with her grandson, Francis.
Chris has devoted the next stage of her life to helping others, so she is excited to join the Rossmoor Fund Board. She is also on the Steering Committee for the Neighbors for Safer Streets organization. And she helps with Voter Registration, and will be a Poll Worker in upcoming elections.
