Maxine Topper

Maxine Topper lived in the Chicago area while working and raising her family. Though their daughter still calls Chicago home, Maxine and her husband moved to Rossmoor in 2015 to be closer to their son’s family and their only two grandchildren. It’s been a wonderful way to spend retirement!

After many years working with small and large advertising agencies, then planning conferences for a psychologist specializing in grieving associated with parenting handicapped children, Maxine decided to make a career switch to mental health counseling and management. Helping people directly became her career goal at age 50! She completed her Master’s thesis and has done presentations on the power of humor to increase life satisfaction and manage life transitions.

When not traveling or leading Road Scholar groups, Maxine loves to read, play pickleball and bridge. She has been active in many, many Rossmoor activities and has held several board positions, most recently as the Secretary of the Rossmoor Walnut Creek (GRF) board.

I look forward to working with the Rossmoor Fund and helping contribute to a better life for residents of this beautiful community!!
